Pierce Oliver Brewer, Jr. was an American actor, land developer, and professional underwater diver. He adopted the name"Capt. Kidd" after his father, Julius"Kidd" Brewer, a former award-winning coach and land developer. Growing up in Raleigh, North Carolina, Brewer, Jr. moved to Los Angeles where he became known for his appearances in the James Cameron films"Piranha II: The Spawning" (1982) and"The Abyss" (1989). Years of scuba diving off the coast of North Carolina helped in both of these roles. The film"The Abyss" was dedicated to his memory.
